Marksville Municipal Airport – Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) Installation
Aviation Safety Enhancement
To enhance aviation safety at Marksville Municipal Airport by providing accurate and timely weather information to pilots, the Avoyelles Parish Airport Authority contracted with Digital Engineering to provide professional services in the procurement of equipment and design services for the installation of an Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS).

DE provided coordination with FAA, site selection, installation design along with FCC licensing for the AWOS PT III System. In order to take advantage of funding from two sources in two fiscal years, DE provided assistance to the owner in procuring the system equipment and provided plans and specifications along with construction administration and resident inspection services for the installation of the system.
