Headquartered in the greater New Orleans area, our team has grown since our inception in 1990 with expanded office locations in southeast Louisiana and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

History

  • 1990-1999

    Founding
    • 1990 – Digital Imaging, Inc. is founded by Owner and President, Jimmie Martinez, specializing in converting non-digital engineering drawings into CAD files for local government agencies. 
    • 1993 – The firm becomes licensed to provide professional engineering services and is renamed Digital Engineering & Imaging, Inc., coinciding with the addition of Vice President, Kurt Evans, P.E. 
    • 1993 – The first Digital Engineering & Imaging, Inc. logo is created. 
    • 1995 – Kurt Evans, P.E. becomes an Owner of the firm. 
    • 1995 – Digital Engineering secures its first transportation contract. 
    • 1995 – Digital Engineering secures its first program management contract. 
  • 2000-2009

    Leadership
    • 2000 – The company unveils a refreshed logo design. 
    • 2001 – Digital Engineering opens its Waveland, Mississippi office, expanding its regional presence. 
    • 2002 – Digital Engineering is awarded its first water contract. 
    • 2003 – Thomas Hickey, P.E. joins the ownership team. 
    • 2005 – Bruce Newton, P.E., MBA joins the ownership team. 
    • 2005 – The firm expands into Disaster Recovery services, supporting post-disaster rebuilding efforts. 
    • 2007 – Digital Engineering earns its first Federal contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – New Orleans District. 
  • 2010-2024

    Expansion
    • 2010 – A new logo is introduced, reflecting the firm’s growth and modernization. 
    • 2011 – Digital Engineering secures its first aviation contract. 
    • 2012 – The firm expands into Coastal Engineering services, broadening its capabilities. 
    • 2013 – Digital Engineering secures its first port contract. 
    • 2014 – Frank Liang, P.E., PTOE and Robert Delaune, Jr., P.E. join the ownership team. 
    • 2015 – Founder Jimmie Martinez retires, marking a new chapter in company leadership. 
    • 2016 – The firm opens a new office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 
    • 2020 – Expansion continues with the opening of a new office in Mandeville, Louisiana. 
    • 2022 – David LeBreton, Jr., P.E., PTOE, PTP, RSP1 and Andrew Woodroof, P.E. join the ownership team. 
    • 2022 – Thomas Hickey, P.E. retires. 
    • 2024 – Fannie Marcotte-Bennett joins the ownership team. 
    • 2024 – Kurt Evans, P.E. retires after decades of leadership and service. 
  • 2025-now

    Legacy
    • 2025 – Digital Engineering announces its new leadership team, ushering in the next era of growth.
    • 2025 – Gerald Babin, Jr., P.E. joins as an Owner, contributing to the company’s continued success.
    • 2026 – The firm unveils a refreshed logo, symbolizing evolution and innovation.
