Kurt Evans Honored with ASCE Wall of Fame Recognition

An extended congratulations to Kurt M. Evans, P.E., CEO of Digital Engineering and Imaging, Inc., for the recent induction to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) New Orleans Branch Wall of Fame.

The awards ceremony for the 2023 Annual Awards Banquet & Installment Lunch was held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Rizzuto’s Ristorante & Chop House in New Orleans, LA. This award recognizes local individuals with a demonstrated record of significant contributions to the Civil Engineering Profession.

With over 44 years of experience, Mr. Evans provided design, plan preparation, and construction management services throughout the Gulf Coast region. He is currently licensed in Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Texas.

In addition to his engineering expertise, Mr. Evans is a small business owner, who is dedicated to generating local employment opportunities to better our communities. He empowers his team to become industry leaders and actively contributes to community initiatives, embodying a commitment to both business success and community growth. His impact on our region's employment landscape is truly inspiring.

Mr. Evans’ support for ASCE started back in the late 1970s when he was a student member serving on the Student Chapter Board for two years while obtaining his Bachelor of Science for Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1979. A recent example of his continued commitment to the organization includes his participation in 2016 as a panelist in the ASCE New Orleans Younger Member Leadership panel, which provides guidance on leadership to the Branch’s younger members. Furthermore, Mr. Evans earned the honor of becoming a life member in the year 2022, representing a lifetime commitment to ASCE and the civil engineering profession.

Additionally, Mr. Evans is involved with other professional engineering organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Louisiana Engineering Society, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Mr. Evan’s most notable project commitments include the development and management of Parishes Against Coast Erosion (PACE), the assistance in the recovery and rebuild from Hurricane Katrina for the City of Waveland, the assistance in preparation of the WRDA Bill of 2007 Section 5085 for Southeast LA Regions assistance for the design and construction for water-related environmental infrastructure and resource protection, and providing aid for the creation of the Construction Management At Risk (CMAR) Legislation for Louisiana bill and subsequent amendments on the ACECL/AGC/LES/AIA team.
