MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET Accredited College.

  • Preferred 8 to 10 years of experience in in municipal project management experience such as scope and fee management, internal team performance management, project management and client management

    Note: applications will be accepted from persons who possess current licenses in states other than Louisiana. However, the applicant will be required to obtain a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate or Professional Engineering license within 6 months of hire.

Functional supervision may be exercised over Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineer Interns, engineering technicians, project administrators/administrators and student interns.

Location of Work
Any DE Louisiana or Mississippi office location.

Travel
Travel to project sites throughout service area, and to other DE offices as-needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform management duties in project and/or program management, planning, designing, permitting, and overseeing construction of infrastructure and facilities.

Water Resources projects include water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater collection, treatment, and pumping systems; storm water collection and conveyance systems; coastal restoration systems; and flood protection systems.

Duties within role include::

• Establish project design criteria.

• Coordinates with Practice Leader and client to determine functional, spatial, and programmatic requirements of project and establishes estimated costs and construction time.

• Coordinates with Practice Leader to determine staffing and resource needs for project execution.

• Perform design in compliance with DE standards, industry standards, engineering principles, organization standards, contract requirements, and related specifications.

• Develop and manage internal tasks, deliverables, and deadlines for team members for successful execution of projects.

• Perform or oversee calculations and preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and documents for civil and/or environmental engineering projects.

• Perform or oversee technical and regulatory reports for civil and/or environmental engineering projects.

• Work with other engineers, engineer interns, CADD and clerical staff to ensure project completeness.

• Obtain approvals and permits for projects.

• Work with construction administrators and inspectors during the construction phase of a project, if applicable.

• Perform construction administration duties including shop drawing review, periodic site inspections and review of contractor’ pay requests.

• Work effectively as a team leader and team member.

• Monitor and maintain control over project budgets and schedules to prevent over expenditures and excessive charges.

• Prepare and maintain project schedules.

• Maintain Project Checklists.

• Ensure all assigned projects comply with Company Quality Control Program.

• Maintain and file all documents (including emails) developed throughout the project duration.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Water Resources Practice Leader.

• Able to provide good engineering practices on a project for planning, design, bidding, and construction phases.

• Anticipates problems and forms remediation plans before the project suffers.

• Addresses all the issues of a job that need immediate action and attention.

• Interfaces and coordinates with clients on project specific issues.
