Runway Repair
Runway 8-26 at Jennings Airport showed significant fatigue from aging asphalt, including oxidation, transverse, and longitudinal cracking. To address these concerns, Digital Engineering was contracted to perform pavement analysis and design in accordance with FAA standards.
Rehabilitation Plan
Using FAARFIELD software, DE evaluated pavement sections and runway traffic to develop a rehabilitation strategy for the 5,000’ x 75’ runway. Alternatives comparing mill-and-overlay with full reconstruction were studied to determine the most cost-effective solution. DE also prepared preliminary and final plans, specifications, and construction sequencing to minimize operational disruptions. Special consideration was given to maintaining intersecting Runway 13-31 operations for as long as possible before rehabilitating the intersection in a controlled sequence
